Leo Messi has returned to Barcelona from Argentina at midday on Friday accompanied by Juanjo Brau, his medical assistant. The young star went straight for a medical exam to determine how his recovery programme is progressing.

The Barça club doctor, Lluís Til said that the tests would “confirm the report we received from doctors in Argentina”. Messi will “continue with the rehabilitation programme” from Saturday onwards, Til added.
